i'm not sure if i can set a common time slot which suits everyone, but i'll still try - for the last time!
i don't want to watch the movie too long after the release date, but Irfan brought up a good point. since HP is well loved by many (including zulkifli), tickets will be sold out fast, and surely we don't want our seats to be separated right? ^^
so, lets still watch the movie on weekdays as tickets are cheaper and crowd will be slightlyyyyyy lesser.

Hello friends!

For those who asked me about the previous post, don't panic. haha. I'll write in my personal blog if i have to say something like that. ^_^
You all may find this irrelevant, but do read on because i think it's all part of life which we may face now or in future.

Have you all heard of what happened to the Diet Pepsi company in 1993? That company was actually accused of putting objects in their pepsi cans.
This 'emergency' reflects the pertinent weaknesses and strengths in the society for us to learn from.
It actually revealed that the success of the Diet Pepsi company all lies in the proper planning and communication skills of their multi-functional crisis team.
I find this case a very unique one because it was something which the company had to deal with immediately, or else it might affect their brand name....

which then brings me to talk about : YOUR REPUTATION

Your reputation - in many ways it can be considered as one of your most valued assets.
It's what people use to judge who you are, and more importantly, whether they want to work with you. In essence, your good name is your brand and you sometimes have to defend it against others who attempt to damage it in some way. And in today's world of blogs, online forums and uncontrolled media, it's easier than ever for others to damage your good name and your reputation.
In fact, in many cases, you can be totally innocent and still have others attempt to damage your reputation: perhaps for competitive reasons, maybe they're mad at you for some unrelated issue, or maybe you just happen to have the same name as someone else who deserves rebuke.
Those situations are as much (and sometimes far more serious) of a crisis as a fire, earthquake, or strike. You need to plan ahead, prepare for these situations and be able to extricate yourself from them when they happen.

At the end of the day, ask yourself what you'll do when someone damages your reputation- which you've tried to built up all these years.

hi everyone,
thanks for responding positively to the plans for the class outing.
Wei Ming, Sam, Syahirah, Yida, Kang Sheng, Seri, Zul, Roys, Naila, Jeremy, Jovin and Pradeep voted for 1st May except for the one and only IRFAN =,=''

for the outing, i'm planning to organise a 'mini-orientation', with games and sharing secessions like that. venue will be at the open area near Pasir Ris Park (the same place we went last year). after which, we can catch a movie (IF ONLY THE NEW HARRY POTTER MOVIE COMES OUT THIS WEEK!!) or have lunch at the malls nearby. i feel the need for us to sit down and have a proper heart to heart talk. HAHA!!

at this point of time, i believe everyone have already gone through your respective orientation camps. so how was it?!!! syok right?!! come on, share some stories to everyone here!!!!
i enjoyed my college mass dance the most. how about you?
orientation is definitely one of the many sweet moments in life, simply because its where bonds of friendship are formed. like it or not, you will surely see the same people for a whole 3 years. no one should be alone. make as many friends as you can, while you're there.

time passes very fast, so fast that you'll slowly begin to forget what you did in the orientation itself. my friends, school is not going to be as easy and as 'slack' as it was back in secondary school. there's a whole lot of new commitments coming up for everyone. work hard and don't give up no matter what. there will always be someone you can rely on when life gets tough.
the course you're in might not be your first choice, but i hope you guys will get used to it. learn to love what you're doing!

so, for the benefit of everyone and someone in particular *ehem ehem* , i would like to bring everyone's attention to today's topic which will be on..............

''HOW TO MAKE FRIENDS WITH SOMEONE YOU'VE NEVER SPOKEN TO BEFORE''

Steps
1. Ask the person if they need any help when you approach them so that you both can know each other a whole lot better.
2. A smile works wonders when you've never spoken to somebody before. You need to seem happy and approachable.
3. Introduce yourself. You want the other person to know your name, this will make you more memorable. You might want to shake their hand as you introduce yourself. It gives a good impression.
4. Compliments are always nice to receive. Compliment the person on their hair, their appearance, or anything else about their person. Do not resort to flattery, however, because this will make you seem fake.
5. Strike up a conversation! Comments such as, "wasn't that history test hard?" or "it looks like it might snow, doesn't it?" are great ice breakers. Or, you could ask for help. Something as simple as, "I don't understand this math problem, could you help me?" will do the trick.
6. Don't dominate the conversation. A good balance would be 60/40, with them doing 60% percent of the talking.
7. To keep a conversation going, ask questions about them, what they like to do, what their hobbies are, etc. Find things that you have in common. Don't rush into a conversation, or seem over-eager. Act polite, interested, and kind.
8. Laughter always helps to loosen people up. Share a funny joke, or a witty comment. Don't be discouraged if the person doesn't find it funny, it's not the end of the world.
9. Don't rush into the relationship. Speaking to someone once, and then declaring them your best friend is sure to drive them away. Take your time. True friendship is a process in itself.

Tips
1. Be positive and cheerful, not gloomy and pessimistic.
2. Only attempt to be friends if you truly want to, not just because the person is popular or you feel sorry for them. The eventual pain is not worth it.
3. Try to say their names more often than people usual do when they address each other. Instead of just a "hi!", say, "hi Jason!" or "hey Emma, what're you doing?"
4. Don't be afraid of new experiences and then close yourself up by thinking of the consequences.
5. Give it a go! You never know when you truly need your friends and how much a boost of confidence they can give you!
6. Enjoy yourself, relax!

Warnings
1. At all costs, avoid being fake. People can clearly tell when you are doing that, and it will only hurt your efforts. It's just not worth it.
2. Don't make too many gestures and noises or surprised/shocked comments such as a frown then a smile and another sudden frown, saying "wow!", "Oo!", "Oh!", "Oh my gosh!", "Aww", etc. 3. In a short period of time. This could make the other person think, "what?" We don't want that.
4. Don't look up and down or all over the other person's face. Look into their eyes, or perhaps their nose bridge. It makes you seem like your eyes are searching for something in them, this could make the other person feel extremely uncomfortable.
5. Know when to stop. If you're kidding around, look for the signals and messages that basically says, 'it's not funny anymore', or, 'lets change the subject.' Say something related to what you were kidding around on, but not exactly on topic.

friends, do bring out the courage in you to try these out. it might do you good!!

as you can see, more and more people are missing each other too much, to the extent of demanding for a class gathering!
tsk tsk, please dont turn violent, its scary. [remember what happened in Russia during the February Revolution when people began to go on riots when the rising demand for food were not heard by the government..........OOPS, geog students wouldnt know that, would they? HAHAHAHA!]

first, the date.
i was told that most of you will start having the poly orientation on the 16 and 17 april, and when the weekend is over, you'll start school. you'll get really busy next week, so i guess you guys really want to have the outing before school starts.
BUT
if its made this week, it means that we can only have it tomorrow(15 apr), saturday(18 apr) or sunday(19 apr). but there's no promotion to singapore flyer on weekends!

friends, do think about it and tell me whats best. this is just a lay out of the ideas, its not confirmed, so please dont be disappointed if things didnt work out.
i apologise for coordinating this outing at the very last minute!

the other option is to have it AFTER poly starts. that shall be discussed soon.

hello friends!

i bet all of you have heard of the new Tampines 1 mall which was formally opened just yesterday. well, i was there earlier today. to me, most are just ordinary shops which you can find in the other malls. for example, there's a lot of clothes for woman. [girls, lets go shopping!!]

the few shops which attracts my attention are:
1. there's SECRET RECIPE which happens to be someone's favourite.
*hint hint hint hint hint*
2. oh and there's a pet shop for pet lovers too.
3. i went to a shop which sells kids clothing. i saw a girl statue wearing a princess gown. its so lovely that i wish i can fit into that gown. HAHAHAHA! oh for the guys, i bet you people would dearly want to wear the tuxedo which the boy statue had. i bet i bet i bet!!!
4. i had no idea that japanese fashion is so popular among Singaporeans. Uni Qlo had the most customers. they even had to queue up to enter!!!

hmm, it seems like our bus and mrt rides will be so crowded from now till the attraction dies down. to me, tampines used to be a very homey place to be in. but with the birth of new attractions like the mall, i think tampines will sooner or later lose that homey atmosphere.

at the end of the day, i'm glad that i managed to survive the crowd and despite all that, i had fun. it'll definitely be great if there's an opportunity for us to have a class gathering there.

i am currently in the process of 'renovating' our class blog. at its pathetic current state, i think no one would want to visit it again right?!!

ok so once upon a time, i did what every normal teens will do, that is to 'blog hop'.
the thought of having a class website came to my mind.
I, as your ex-chairman, would want to take the sole initiative of opening up a class site.

i hope that through this class site, we're able to keep in touch with one another, and thus help closen up the gap between us. well, i feel that we should keep the class spirit alive, even though we're all heading in different ways at the end of the day.
it is well understood that we're sometimes too busy with work that it makes it very hard to organise class events. [[apparently, the plan to Mr Teo's place didnt turn out as hoped.]]

so my point which i want to put accross to everyone is that, THIS BLOG IS NECESSARY and DEFINITELY needed!!
lastly, i hope everyone of you will support its good course.
